Executive summary
The vision of MIRROR is to empower and motivate employees to learn by reflection of tacit work practices and personal experiences. This will be achieved by complementing personal and organisational learning environments (which mainly rely on knowledge being explicitly available) with highly personal MIRROR applications for individual, social, creative, game-based as well as organisational reflection and real-time learning. MIRROR Apps will be seamlessly integrated in the work situation of their intended users.

Delivered M15 (October 2011)
Link to the deliverable (pdf) D1.2 Report on User Studies
Executive summary
During the first year of the project, comprehensive user studies in five testbeds have been carried out involving the target group of the MIRROR Apps. When writing this deliverable, we paid specific attention to the identification of best practices and current needs regarding reflective learning occurring in the five testbeds. This allowed us to improve our understanding of current practices of reflective learning. The present deliverable summarizes and integrates the results from the user and design studies conducted during the first year of MIRROR.

Editors: Lars Müller, Veronica Rivera-Pelayo, Andreas Schmidt, FZI.
Link to the work package (WP3): WP 3 Capturing learning experiences
Delivered: M12 (June 2011)
Link to the deliverable (pdf): D 3.1 User studies, requirements, and design studies for capturing learning experiences
Executive summary:
This document describes the research process of work package 3 (WP3) in the first year of the MIRROR project. Work package 3 aims at “Capturing learning experiences” and thus support reflective learning. A learning experience is understood as an experience relevant to the reflective learning process. In the context of MIRROR, we focus on learning experiences that relate to work practices. Therefore, an experience is relevant if it has the potential to lead to a work-related outcome of a reflection session.

Delivered: M12 (June 2011)
Link to the deliverable (pdf): D 4.1 Results of the user studies and requirements on “Individual Reflection at Work”
Executive summary:
WP4's overarching goal is to support learning by reflection at work, with a focus on individual learning, individual reflection and learning by observation. A specific sub-goal is to gain an improved understanding of triggers for reflection, i.e. what makes people actually reflect. Within this deliverable, we (i) show evidence that supports the assumption that people at selected MIRROR testbeds do learn by reflection and by observing others, (ii) identify and categorise concrete situations in which people reflect, what they reflect upon, and what they learn from reflection, (iii) identify categories of triggers for reflection, (iv) collect existing work tools and data as well as reflective practices at selected MIRROR testbeds as connecting points into which future reflection Apps can hook into, and (v) discuss potential technological support for reflection.

Delivered: M12 (June 2011)
Link to the deliverable (pdf): D5.1 Descriptive framework and capabilities for creative problem solving and reflective learning
Executive summary:
This deliverable reports results from research undertaken in year-1 in Work Package 5: Learning Through Creative Problem Solving, which aims to extend established creative problem solving methods, techniques, and tools with new techniques and tools that reinforce learning of the new knowledge generated by the creative problem solving process. The deliverable is divided into 3 sections, which report the 3 major outcomes in year-1. The first outcome is a first version of a new framework that describes the relationship between creative problem solving and learning, with a focus on situating reflective learning both within and with respect to a wider creative process.

Link to the deliverable (pdf): D7.1 User study on the creative gaming environment and gaming apps version 1
Executive summary:
The MIRROR project aims at empowering and motivating employees to learn by reflection over work practices and personal experiences without necessarily making tacit knowledge explicit first. As learning can happen mainly on three different levels, namely personal, team and organisational, MIRROR is targeting at complementing personal and organisational learning environments (which mainly rely on knowledge being explicitly available in TEL approaches) with highly personal MIRROR applications with the so-called MIRROR „app-sphere".
