WP3 Capturing Learning Experiences
WP 3 Updates PDF Print E-mail

January 2012:

WP 3 is currently developing mobile applications to capture affective and task context. Furthermore, new sensors are being developed to capture the social interaction between employees.

The MoodMap App supports meetings by capturing, aggregating and visualizing moods, which reflect the emotions of the participants.  The development of the MoodMap App has resulted in a first prototype for distributed meetings that is improved and adapted in close cooperation with BT and Know Center.

The DocTrain App supports physicians in daily documentation tasks of their practical training. Current paper-based solutions are replaced by a mobile application and a web interface, which allow physicians to document the treatments that they perform Therefore, the collected data provides insights into tasks and training progress. The DocTrain App has been deployed at NBN and is in use by physicians on the stroke unit.

FZI currently develops a new watch based sensor that measures the proximity between users. The latest technical tests have been successful and discussions with RNHA have started with the purpose of testing the sensors in their care homes. This new sensor would allow care homes to capture the social interaction between employees and residents. This could support reflection on task performance as well as unknown preferences, e.g. who do I spend most of my work time with?
