WP8 focuses on organisational learning by applying the concept of individual learning by reflection and observation at the workplace - as addressed in WP4 - to the organisational level. In the same way an individual person can learn by observing and assessing its own behaviour or someone else’s behaviour respectively, an organisation can learn by monitoring and analysing organisational (learning) processes. Therefore, the goal of WP8 is to enable organisations to leverage their employees learning capacities in accordance to organisational contexts and objectives, and by enabling individual employees to learn from the organisational experience.
- Objective 8.1: Deepen the understanding of reflective learning at the organisational level by gathering user requirements (observational study) from the MIRROR testbed partners. The results of this study as well as continuous feedback/input from the testbed partners will be evaluated and incorporated in the development of the MIRROR Apps for organisational learning and intelligence. Hereby, the study will be carried out in conjunction with WP1.
- Objective 8.2: Design an organisational profile which contains a summary of many individual work histories based on the raw sensor data which is delivered by WP3. In this way, the organisation (and its management) is enabled to identify potentials for continuous (learning) process improvement. Vice versa, the individual employee is enabled to learn from best practices and from experiences other employees has already gained in similar working situations (peer, peer-group).
- Objective 8.3: Create reflection and observation Apps on an organisational level which converts the user profiles into a “usable” representation that supports organisational reflection. According to the designed organisational model and profile (see objective 8.2) and based on available Business Process Management Systems, Learning Management Systems and Business Intelligence Solutions, MIRROR applications for an extended organisational intelligence will be developed. These apps will enable organisations to monitor, mash, analyse and react on their organisational learning experiences (out of the “learning cloud”). In addition, individual employees will be provided with applications that enable them to participate in organisational learning.
- Objective 8.4: Integrate the developed MIRROR Apps for reflective learning and observation at the organisational level into a platform where work practices and experiences can be shared within a communityof practice and within the whole organisation. A key success factor for this objective will be the question, how to motivate learners to share their learning practices with others and especially with the management of the organisation.
